A small watercolor of the spring of 2015
I painted a lot of poppies and daisies in 2015. The spring was long and warm. It was a special year for spring wild flowers in Madrid.

Some of the poppies are just gigantic, deeply red and in the transparent sunlight they shimmer orange and red.

The Retiro Park in Autumn 2016
While I was painting this watercolor…

I ran into a friend I hadn’t seen for a long time. We lost contact long ago in San Francisco and lo and behold, there she was visiting the retiro park in Madrid at the same time I was painting. Small world as they repeatedly say.

Mom and Dads Back Yard August 2015

Almudena Cathedral September 2015

Here you can see part of the Almudena Cathedral.
I was happily painting and almost finished with this small watercolor of the Almudena, when the waiter came by and pulled down the shade umbrella. You never know what’s going to happen when painting outdoors in the city.

My first exhibition when I returned to Madrid in 1994. I’ve a some more inbetween which I’ll update eventually.
