This is a very small painting of Calle de la Pasa. It translates in English to “Raisin Street” perhaps raisins were once sold on this street.

El que no pasa por la Calle de la Pasa, no se casa.” – This saying translates to – “He who does not pass by Raisin Street ,does not get married“. The reason being that before going to the altar, the paperwork had to be done in a building on Calle de la Pasa. This street is in the heart of Madrid, so when you come for a visit, make sure you see this pretty street which leads to a popular yet tranquil plaza called Plaza Conde de Barajas.
